A young blacksmith must undertake a perilous journey to the four ends of the world to rescue his wife, who is held captive by the Moon. Along the way, he befriends a powerful wolf who encourages, protects, and ultimately sacrifices his life to save his human friend. A stirring allegory of God’s love in classic fairy tale tradition.
This book was FANTASTIC. Well-written, well-paced, humorous, wise, exciting, and enthralling. Not to mention the eye-candy book cover is just GORGEOUS. C. S. Lakin incorporated quotes from C. S. Lewis, G. K. Chesterton, and more amazing authors through the wolf’s ‘wise sayings’ – this greatly added to the book for me.
This is a splendid, reversed-retelling of “East of the Sun, West of the Moon” – with plenty of godly wisdom thrown in. There is nothing objectionable; no inappropriate content, one of those classics good for young AND old audiences!
